Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has traveled to Cincinnati to try to convince Fraternal Order of Police leaders to bring their national convention to Orlando.
Dyer is expected to pitch his city today to the group, which has gathered this week in Cincinnati for its semi-annual convention. The labor group has more than 325,000 members nationwide, and a local chapter represents Orlando police officers.
Dyer hopes to bring the National FOP Biennial Conference and Exposition to Orlando in 2017. Other cities, including Nashville, are also in contention. The group is expected to vote on the convention site on Thursday.
