Many words have been coined to describe our fascination with being ?on the line? as Vince Vaughn aptly put it in the recent movie, The Internship. In any language, across the globe, when you say, ?the internet?, ?surfing the web? or ?browsing the net? people know what you are talking about.
The World Wide Web has opened up some incredible doors for people especially looking to take their businesses to the next level. And let?s face it, in this day and age, if you have not taken your business digital, you will fall more and more behind the pack, away from leading market trends.
One such leading online business, which some of you may have heard about ? a little thing we know as GOOGLE? oh you have heard of it! Having just recently celebrated its 15th birthday, this teenager is showing no signs of slowing down with its market share, as of July this year, increasing to 67%. Statistics from the same month also show that out of the over 19 million organic searches in Search Engines, Google came out tops with almost 13 million of those searchers.
Of course we know that not all companies can have the incredible portfolio that Google does, but the grasp that the online market has had is staggering. And to think that with the development of the electronic computer just over 60 years ago, we now see how technology has become such an intricate part of our everyday lives.
Many companies who once chose to market solely offline, and did a pretty good job of it too as it where, also see the potential to move online and capitalise on the popularity of this convenient way for new potential customers who are out there searching everything and everything.
In other instances, online companies started sprouting up as pure competition to their land-based foe. A perfect example of this has definitely got to be the online casino industry.
Not all of us may consider ourselves big gamblers, and perhaps the occasional hand of poker with your mates is as good as it gets, but to some people this is the height of entertainment. And hey, who am I to judge what online casino games?tickle your fancy.
From an outsiders viewpoint, it is clear to see from the hundreds, if not thousands of casinos online out there, that just like Google, lovers of the art of gaming have no sign of slowing down, or even choosing to go back to their old school brick and mortar venues for a game of 21 or a firm guilty pleasure for some, slots. Considering that there is a lot more anonymity with being able to play online, it?s also way more convenient, but also think about how crazy expensive petrol is these days and the hassle of public transport? dang, if I were a gaming fan, I reckon I too would stay at home and play online casino games.
Whatever your interests, be it sports, or gambling, fashion, movies and more, the internet, if it hasn?t already, will become like your virtual fairy godmother and grant you wishes to find all the information you are looking for within a few short minutes. It really is an incredible advancement in technology that I know I am proud to say I use every day. Call me what you will (but please keep your mind out the gutter, lol), but I know the internet and I are going to be in a healthy relationship for many years to come. ![]()
