RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

High school senior Laurel Gordon looks to be a strong candidate for Washington State's next dairy princess. She's been crowned the roving dairy ambassador for her county. And she has the right pedigree. Her family's dairy farm goes back 150 years. Plus, her three older sisters have held the title. There is one slight hang-up. Laurel is lactose intolerant. She hopes that won't rule her out, since she can eat yogurt and hard cheeses.
