BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Gov. Bobby Jindal's office issued a proclamation concerning the recall of Port Allen Mayor Deedy Slaughter.

Jindal has signed off on holding a special election to determine if Slaughter should be recalled from her position.

The election is scheduled to be held on November 16.

The Office of the Louisiana Attorney General wrapped up the process to validate the recall petition.

The petition was then sent to the governor's office, where he authorized the election.
