People love to speculate about other people?s lives. People want to know what?s their secrets, their special edge, their regimens, plans, workouts, genetics, you name it. In the fitness world people fall under two categories: those who train without using steroids and strong, illegal fat burning/muscle building drugs and those who don?t use it. I used to call myself ?natural? but the more time goes by, what is natural? Is it natural to use regular supplements like BCAA, caffeine, protein powder, fish oil? I guess not, right? Natural should mean no gym equipment, no supplements, no caffeine, no crystal light, no sweeteners, no artificial flavors, colorings or maybe not even using any electronic devices during training, like heart rate monitor or ipod! So, I stopped using the term ?natural?, and instead I say I train to look a certain way and doing it while being responsible for my longevity, health and fitness. My body ideal is extreme, so it does take extreme amounts of training, strict dieting and all vitamin supplements and sports nutrition products help me recover faster.
People love looking at pictures of ripped, muscular people and then play the game ?drug user or not??. In some strange way they believe they can judge a person by looking at a few pictures! First of all, many women don?t get side effects like deeper voice, hair loss, acne, change in jaw structure over time etc. Some women have ALL of these ?proofs of drug use? without ever touching anything or even working out. Can you judge the person by the amount of muscle mass? Or the leanness? No, not really.
Professional bodybuilders use steroids just like many other professional athletes. Weighing 300 lbs with 4% body fat is not something you achieve by training hard and drink a protein shake. Women who are ripped and have muscle (like me) are not made in three months: try many years and strict dieting and hard core heavy training to produce results and see what YOU get from adhering to a structured plan.
Many competitors do use drugs to get lean and maintain muscle as they melt off 30 lbs from their tiny frames cause they are not disciplined to maintain a good condition year round. Do everyone use? Of course not.
What?s the point in speculating about who?s using and who?s not? Does it make you feel better if they do and you don?t so you can say ?oh, she looks so good cause she uses steroids!?? It just seems you want to justify your own inadequacy in training and dieting consistently. Or is it ?she uses drugs, so then I can too!? you want?
You see, there is nobody really stopping you from using performance enhancing drugs. It?s a choice for each individual. To me, I?ve never ever seen the point with it and would never want to risk my health or looks by adhering to drugs. I am not that vain and I?m even more health conscious!
I?m personally into maintaining my condition. I don?t want to burn out in a few years due to having used quick fixes so I can look ripped, cut and shredded every day. Some days I retain water, some days I am ripped. It?s very natural for a ?natural? to be this way. It would be naive of me to expect an ultra dry appearance every day of the year unless I was using strong, very dangerous diuretics. As you all know who follow my blog and my mission, you know I have ripped days and ?fat? days depending on my body?s mood.
It?s completely a waste of time to speculate about people you see at the gym. If you believe they are using, why do you get upset or frustrated? Expect to see them worn out and incapable of keeping their tight, muscular bodies for many years. Sooner or later any abuse will come to the surface. Be the turtle, not the hare and have a long, healthy, fantastic life.
